Using Hashtags on Instagram

Using hashtags on Instagram is one of the best ways to increase likes and comments on your posts.

If your Instagram account is public and your objective is to connect with like-minded people and increase your following, hashtags will play a very vital role in your daily posts.

If your account is private, only the people you allow to follow you will be able to see you in their hashtag search and IG feed. This will hinder your account growth. If you aren’t comfortable publicly sharing your posts, start another account that is niche specific to what you want more exposure to so you can still protect your private account with your close friends and family.

I made rookie mistakes by staying in learning mode and not implementing anything the industry leaders were teaching me via their books, social media posts, YouTube videos, and even in person events.

Hindsight looking back, maybe it wasn’t a “rookie mistake” for me. I really needed to learn what it really takes to become a TRUE entrepreneur. Why did it take me 8 years to take my passion and turn it into a thriving business?

When I started my first Facebook profile in 2004, I was really impressed. I knew this platform was going to open a lot of doors. I was still in a phase of my life where I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I knew that this social platform was going to have something to do with it. It’s not for everyone, but a lot of people just cannot look away and that’s obvious with the numbers Dr. Pimple Popper produces on Instagram. I stumbled upon Dr. Sandra Lee’s Instagram account back before she had a half-million followers. I was fascinated with her videos of procedures and listened intently as she described what she was doing and why. She lit my nerd candle.

She routinely gave away zit extractors by hiding them in public areas that enticed her local followers to go out and find them. The more she did this, the more her audience grew and the more I was glued. Today she has 2.7 million followers and a series on TLC.
